David L. South, 80, of Veedersburg, IN, passed away 1:03 PM Tuesday October 25, 2022 at Ben Hur Nursing Home in Crawfordsville, Indiana.

David was born November 16, 1941 in Indianapolis, IN the son of Cecil M and Mary A. (Houk) South. He married Colleen Dalton December 22, 1963 in Clay City, IN.

Surviving family include his wife, Colleen South, Veedersburg; a brother, Cecil Duane (Nancy) South, Marshall IN; a sister, Anna Marie South Beaman, Plymouth IN; nieces and nephews, Shay (Amy) South, Marshall IN; Debbie (Jim) Guinn, Rockville IN; Sue Pensinger, Wingate, IN; Kathy (David) Kurfman, Kokomo IN; Glenn William Beaman, Terry Beaman, Randy Beaman, Barry Beaman, Susie Beaman, and their extended families.

He is preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Larry E. Pensinger; and a nephew Kenny South.

David attended school in Bridgeton, and graduated from Rosedale High School. He also graduated from Rose Holman Institute of Technology in Terre Haute, IN. Prior to his retirement he was employed at INDOT for many years as Crawfordsville District Land Surveyor. He was a lifetime member of the American Society of Civil Engineers.

Funeral service will be 2:00 PM Saturday October 29, 2022 at Dickerson Funeral Home In Veedersburg, IN with Jake Guinn officiating. Visitation will begin at 1:00 PM Saturday October 29, 2022 at the funeral home and continue until the time of service. Burial will be at Mt Hope Cemetery near Covington, IN.
