Westville, Illinois - Clovia Holycross went to be with the Lord at 8:07 pm on Sunday, January 7, 2024, at the age of 94 at Liberty Village (Hawthorne) Nursing Home in Danville, Illinois.

Clovia was born on December 15, 1929, in Vermilion County, Illinois to Fairie Decker and Ed Miller. She married the love of her life, Oliver "Gene" Holycross after he returned from the Korean War conflict on July 23, 1952. They raised a family in Westville, Illinois. Clovia was a homemaker and then was a childcare provider for many children over the years. She loved many of those children as if they were her own and brought so much joy to the people's lives she touched.

Clovia was an active member of the Lone Oak Church of Christ in Danville where she was a Sunday School teacher along with Gene for many years. She was a wonderful Christian who loved to talk about her faith and how many blessing the Lord had given her. She would often pray for others and her work truly brought many people closer to God. She also loved to flower garden in her spare time. She could often be seen enjoying the company of family and friends at the pool in her yard.

She is survived by her children: Betty Jo (John) Robson, Larry (Penny) Holycross, and Nancy (Alan) Leach; grandchildren: Beth (Don) Beckett, Josh (Jaye) Brown, Jessica (Austin) Hogue, Jennifer (Kevin) Hildebrand; and numerous great-grandchildren as well as great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother: Charles Miller. He beloved husband, Gene, passed three years ago. She was also preceded in death by her parents; brother: Roland Miller; and grandson: Brian Robson.

Funeral service 11 am on Thursday, January 11, 2024, at Robison Chapel in Catlin, Illinois. Pastor Kevin Cox officiating. Burial in Mound Cemetery, Covington, Indiana.
