Clint James Hawkins Obituary
Catlin, Illinois - Clint James Hawkins, 59, of Chrisman, Illinois, formerly of Catlin, Illinois, passed away peacefully in his sleep at 7:57 am on Sunday, September 15th, 2024, at home, after a courageous and hard-fought 5-year battle with Multiple Myeloma.
Clint was born on August 3rd, 1965, to Jim and Judy Hughes Hawkins in Danville, Illinois. Clint graduated from Jamaica High School in 1983 where he was an FFA Member. He then went on to Danville Area Community College while working nights during the winter seasons at Peterson Puritan Factory. Clint then began working at Klayer's Ag Supply up to it being sold in 1989 to WACO. He continued to manage the plant until 1992, when he became an owner of Catlin Ag Supply. Clint successfully ran the business for 12 years before it was sold to CPS in 2004. Clint remained at CPS as a manager until 2007 when he retired and focused solely on farming with his family, a vocation he started in 1998 and continued until his death.
In 2008, Clint met Rebecca. They married on June 26th, 2014, on a beautiful beach in Mexico. Clint loved and adored her with all of his heart. They combined their families and had many celebrations and vacations together. Christmas was Clint's favorite holiday, when everyone met for breakfast before opening presents. Clint's kids were his whole world, and he would do anything for them. He loved farming side by side with his son, Clayton (Jordyn) Hawkins on the Hawkins Farms. He was extremely proud of his daughter, Macey (Dylan) Dalbey, lovingly known as Miffy. Although Clint had no responsibility to do so, Clint loved his bonus son, Bryant (Shelby) Geralds as his own. This past year Clint was blessed to meet and spoil his granddaughter, Parker Hawkins.
When Clint was not farming, he spent time watching football and NASCAR. He was a member of many organizations, including Ducks Unlimited, Farm Bureau, and the NRA. He loved to vacation in different places with his wife and children. He collected NASCAR models and Hot Wheels.
Clint was preceded in death by his loving mother, Judith Kay Hawkins, his grandparents, Kathryn and Bob Craig, and many aunts and uncles. He is survived by his father, Jim (Gloria) Hawkins; brother, Kent (Mary) Hawkins; sister, Kelly (Dan) Izard; nephew and Hawkins Farm member, Kyle (Abby) Hawkins and their son Kash Hawkins; Travis (Jenna) Hockett; parents-in-law, Bud (Thelma) Geralds; and brother-in-law, Raymond (Kim) Geralds and their son William Geralds. He will be greatly missed by many, especially dear friends Allen Hockett, Jim Clingan, and Jim Bedinger.
