Cindy Lou (Harper) Powell, 60, of Hoopeston, passed away at 10:08 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 22, 2017 at her home. She was born Feb. 19, 1956, in Danville, the daughter of Marion and Barbara (Jones) Harper.

She is survived by her mother, Barbara Harper of Hoopeston; one sister, Becky (Jimmy) Didier of Cissna Park, Ill.; two brothers, Dan (Shirley) Harper of Hoopeston and Rick (Nancy) Harper of Danville; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father and her only beloved son, Dustin.

Cindy worked at FMC in Hoopeston for nearly 15 years. Upon her son Dustin's illness, she served as his caregiver, until his passing. She loved donating to the Hoopeston food pantry, listening to oldie's music and reading books. She also enjoyed working crossword puzzles and baking. Cindy's greatest enjoyment was spending time with her family.

Per her wishes, she will be cremated and a private family burial will be held at a later date.
