Christopher Aaron Gorman

Christopher Aaron Gorman died unexpectedly from injuries suffered in a tragic accident in Orlando, Fla., on August 9, 2019. He was 46 years young.
Chris was born in Danville, Ill., on April 18, 1973, to June (Campbell) Gorman and David Gorman. He survives.
He was raised by his mom and stepdad, June and James Larson. He survives.
He leaves behind his brother, Danny (Melissa Edwards) Gorman; niece, Shelbi Gorman; a stepsister, Brandi (Steve) Owen; and nephews, Christopher, Brandon, Jacob and Joshua Owen; as well as lots of aunts, uncles and cousins.
Chris was preceded in death by his mom, June, whom he missed dearly. He also was preceded in death by his grandparents, Harold Gorman, Gertrude (Gorman) Maynard, Asa Campbell, Marguerite Campbell and Opal (Bopo) Jones; aunts, Paula (Jones) Ewell, Kathleen Campbell; uncles, Paul Campbell, John Stevens, Roger "Butch" Jones and Robert Campbell.
Chris also was cherished by his life-long best friend, Andy Hendrickson (Lori Davis). His presence in their family will be forever missed along with his parents, John and Carolyn Hendrickson; sister Mary Beth (Barry) Goff; and as "Uncle Chris" to Tyler, Tanner, Taylor and Tori Goff.
He taught many people that loyalty, not blood, makes you family.
Chris graduated from Danville High School in 1992 and later from Southern Illinois University with a bachelor's degree in computer engineering. He moved to Orlando, Fla., where he worked for Universal Studios for nearly 20 years in their production and catering divisions. He thoroughly enjoyed his job and the interaction with the talent that flowed through Universal over the years. Like his mom, Chris loved people and never met a stranger.
He enjoyed good conversations, sharing his perspective and cultivating the many, many friendships he built along his life journey. When Chris entered a room, he filled it with laughter. He was adventurous, full of life and went out of his way to help others. His heartwarming smile will be truly missed.
Chris was cremated and brought home to Danville. His Florida friends previously gathered in Orlando for a celebration of his life there. A memorial visitation will be at 3 p.m. Monday, August 26, at Kruger-Coan-Pape Funeral Home, 10 E. Williams St., in Danville, with a memorial service following at 5 p.m. A gathering will follow the services at 6 p.m. at Sarge's. He will be laid to rest at Spring Hill Cemetery with a small private ceremony for the family.
In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, memorials may be made in Chris's name to the charity of the donor's choice. Friends and family are encouraged to share remembrances on his tribute wall at
