Williamsport, Indiana - Carolee Huston (88) of rural Williamsport passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on August 12, 2026. Carolee was born September 7, 1937 to the late Andrew J and Ethel (Flaharty) Whitaker. She was the third of eight children. She attended Covington High School. On October 8, 1955 at Mount Carmel Church in Covington she married the love of her life James Huston. They had four children: Andy Huston (Debbie), Crawfordsville; Loretta Huston, Williamsport; Doug Huston, Weatherford, Texas; and Dianna Clark, Kingman. Carolee is also survived by her brothers Jim (June Hopper) Whitaker, Chuck (Phyllis) Whitaker, and Joe (Sandy) Whitaker, 12 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, and many beloved nieces and nephews.

In addition to her family Carolee loved cooking and music. She taught herself to play many instruments and had a wonderful singing voice participating in many different groups and bands through the years. She was a devoted member of the music ministry team at Church of Living Water.

The family finds comfort that Carolee is now rejoicing in heaven with those who preceded her in death; her parents, husband James, brothers Steve, Dan, and Tim, sister Margaret Richey and grandson Isaac Vollmer.

The family would like to extend their appreciation to Amber Ryan and Michelle Eades for their support, love, and care during her illness.

Visitation will be from 11:00am-1:00pm EST at Sunset Funeral Home in Covington, Indiana on Monday August 17, 2026. Funeral will follow at 1:00pm EST with Burial in Mount Hope Cemetery at 2:00pm EST. Officiating will be Wesley Vickery, grandson.
