Danville, Illinois - Danville, Illinois - Carol Ann Dixon, 74, of Danville peacefully departed this world on Sunday, July 30, 2023, surrounded by her family, after a long illness.

Carol Dixon was born on February 6, 1949 in Danville, Illinois, to the late Paul V. Rouse, Sr. and Anna Hopkins Rouse. Carol was raised in Danville where she attended St. Patrick's Grade School, and graduated with high honors from St. Mary's Academy in Nauvoo, Illinois Class of 1967, a college preparatory boarding school. She went on to attend Eastern Illinois University in Charleston, Illinois.

The memory of Carol will forever live on in the hearts of her adoring family: her devoted husband Allen Dixon, Jr., her beloved children Anthony (Kimberly) Smith, David (RoShema), Vanessa, Timothy, Valerie, Kristina, Kevin, Stephanie (Herbert) Burnett, Natalie (Myo) Campbell and Ronald (Katherine), her grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Surviving Carol are two brothers, Paul V. (Lillian) Rouse, Jr., and Larry (Patricia) Rouse; and, six sisters, Lucy Dumas, Anna Kennel, Nancy Akers, Jane (Cary) Grant, Jean Rouse, and Cynthia Rouse.

She was preceded in death by both parents, a brother, Robert Rouse, her sisters, Marietta Austin and Esther Avery, and a son, Stephen Smith.

A homegoing celebration will be held at New Life Church of Faith, 1419 N. Bowman Avenue Danville, Illinois on Friday, August 11th starting at 11:00 am. A visitation will begin at 10:00 am until the time of the service.

A public viewing will be held on Thursday, August 10th from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Mason Temple Church of God in Christ, 102 Indiana Street in Danville, Illinois. Following visitation, friends are invited to pay tribute and share memories of Carol Dixon during open microphone at a celebration service beginning at 7:00 pm.
