Bruce Webb Obituary

Monon, Indiana - Bruce A. Webb, 64, of Monon, Indiana, passed away at 8:48 a.m., on Sunday, April 19, 2026, at his home.

Born on August 30, 1961, in Danville, Illinois, to the late John A. Webb and Mary D. Hooton Webb.

Bruce grew up the kind of guy who didn't just accept how things were — he wanted to know why. That curiosity stuck with him for life and served him well in his work as a skilled welder.

After graduating from North Vermillion High School in 1979, he went on to trade school for welding and collected plenty of certifications to show how experienced he was. He worked at Wabash National and Tri-Esco using his welding skills for years.

Bruce married Cindy Bolser on June 30, 1990, in Danville. She survives in Monon — and no doubt has plenty of stories to share.

In his younger days, Bruce played football and worked as a lifeguard, which made sense - he was right at home with the water. Swimming remained one of his favorite things, especially if it ended with a cold beer by the pool.

He was a member of the Eagles and AMVETS in Monticello, Indiana, places where he could relax, catch up, and probably debate something he'd recently learned. Bruce had a wide range of interests: NASCAR races, classic rock, trains of all kinds, National speed boat racing, drag racing and just about any sport worth watching.

More than anything Bruce will be remembered for his inquisitive nature, his steady work ethic, and ability to enjoy life's simple pleasures.

Along with his lovely wife Cindy, he is survived by four children, Joshua J. Webb of Portland, Oregon, Autumn R. Lutchka (companion, Ashlie Horn) of Monticello, Tegan A. Webb (companion, Andrew Martino) of Monticello and Neota Genske of Lake Mary, Florida; three sisters, Vickie Webb of Cayuga, Brenda Webb-Olsen of Martinsville and Linda Webb-Meyers of New Whiteland; four grandchildren, Maximus, Charlotte, Laylah and London; brother in law, Gene Watchbaugh of Frankfort; sister in law, Patricia Bolser of Danville; several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews; his lifelong friends, Tom Bennett, Brian Bortkiewicz and John "Pig" Matthews.

Bruce is preceded in death by his parents; grandparents, Charles and Juanita Hooton and Arnold and Bessie Webb; sister, Sharon Watchbaugh; mother-in-law, Grace Bolser and brother-in-law, Thomas Bolser.

A celebration of Bruce's life will be held at 1:00 p.m. (Eastern) on Thursday, May 14, 2026, at the Riverside Restaurant, 1809 N. Francis Street Monticello, Indiana. Stories will be told and laughter is expected.

Memorials may be made to the Monticello AMVETS, envelopes will be available at the Riverside.

Roscka Roth & Clapper Funeral Home in Monticello is handling arrangements.
