Urbana, IL - Bonnie Kay Stanton, 84, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on Wednesday, May 27, 2026 at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana.

Bonnie was born on May 10, 1942, daughter of Howard D. Butzow and Mildred L. (Hickman) Butzow. The family lived on their rolling farm in Warren County, IN.

She is survived by her husband Matt Stanton of Urbana, daughters Marla (Hank) Sanford, and Michelle Aders, both of Urbana, Nick (Rachel) Stanton of Essex Junction, VT; nieces, nephews, cousins Frank Prickett of Indianapolis, Rosalie Hickman of Hoopeston and six cherished grandchildren. Bonnie was proceeded in death by her parents and brother, Harold Butzow of Hoopeston.

Bonnie was a life-long farm girl who loved her family, horses, dogs and nursing career. She owned, bred and showed World Champion American Paint Horses. Bonnie founded a therapeutic riding program and also offered riding lessons to hundreds of families in the C-U area. She devoted her life and talents to God by helping others.

A memorial visitation will be held from 12:00 until 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 2, at Morgan Memorial Home, 1304 Regency Drive West, Savoy. A funeral service will follow from 1:30 to 2:00 by Hank Sanford, with burial directly following at Locust Grove Cemetery in Philo.
