Indianapolis, In - Betty Jean Hughes, age 90, of Indianapolis, Indiana, peacefully departed this life on October 29, 2025. She was born on August 20, 1935, in Mount Vernon, Illinois, to the late Lena and Charley Farr.
Betty spent her early years in Mount Vernon before relocating with her sister Levivian, to Danville, Illinois, where she attended Danville High School. She later moved to Indianapolis, Indiana, where she established her home and worked in security for Wackenhut.
In 1992, Betty became a member of Overcoming Church under the leadership of her son Pastor Bruce Farr.
Betty leaves to cherish her precious memory three loving children: Gloria Campbell, Bruce Farr (Loretta) and Robin Upshaw; six grandchildren: Benjamin, Vincent, Micah, Daniel, Deidre, and Hannah; and six great-grandchildren: Kaley, Kasey, Kamia, Bella, Maximus and Deonna. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by her family, friends and loved ones.
Betty Hughes lived a life marked by dedication to her family. Though she is no longer with us, her legacy of love and devotion will continue to live on in our hearts forever.
