Betty A. Haas
Betty A. Haas, 92, of Danville, passed away at 1:16 p.m. December 2, 2019.
She was born in Westville, Ill., on January 19, 1927, the daughter of John W. and Frances L. Dudley.
On November 12, 1950, Betty married the love of her life, Robert B. Haas, and they spent 62 years together before his passing on June 28, 2013.
Betty is survived by her sons, Robert (Vickie) Haas Jr. of Lincoln, Ill., Ron (Diana) Dudley of Simsbury, Conn.; daughter, Alice (Bob) Breitzman of Mesa, Ariz.; eight grandchildren, Christopher Haas, Stefanie Ginder, Natalie Haas, Lara (Pat) Ward, Randy (Amy) Breitzman, Tim (Lesley) Breitzman, Greg (Sarah) Breitzman, Eric (Melanie) Dudley; 14 great-grandchildren; and one great great-grandchild.
She is preceded in death by her parents, John Sr. and Frances; husband, Robert; brothers, James Dudley, John (Jiggs) Dudley; sister, Beulah Moore; grandson, Jeremy Simmers; and nephews, Donald Dudley and John W. Dudley.
Betty graduated from Bismarck High School before attending St. Elizabeth School of Nursing where she graduated in 1948 as a registered nurse. She worked for 35 years at the veterans hospital in Danville. While working, she was supervisor of surgery and later worked in the nursing home care unit.
Betty attended Second Church of Christ for many years. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, sewing and crafting.
A Celebration of Life will be at 10 a.m. Monday, December 9, at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, 3940 N. Vermilion St., Danville, IL 61834. Minister Dale DeNeal will officiate. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park in Danville. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Sunday, December 8, at the funeral home.

I am so sorry for your loss. Betty was such a wonderful person who displayed so much kindness and compassion for others. I will miss her dearly. Betty was one in a million.
