Willie Bennie Hall was born to the late Richard Hall and Hattie Clemons in Covington, Tenn. on Nov. 30, 1925. He made his transition of March 16, 2017 at the age of 91.
Willie moved from Covington, Tenn. to Peoria, Ill. at the age of 16. He worked at a meat packing company and Caterpillar. Willie later relocated to Danville and retired from General Motors. With a fifth grade education, he became an entrepreneur and started his own tree business. He loved God and enjoyed singing and basketball. Willie was an Honorary Deacon at City of Faith Ministries.
On Sept. 19, 1962 Willie married Virginia Hall. She transitioned on July 6, 1999. They shared 10 children, eight survive. Their legacy continues with 36 grandchildren, 60 great grandchildren, two brothers, two sisters and many nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will commence at 11 a.m. Friday, March 24, at New Life Church of Faith, 1419 North Bowman Ave., Danville. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. until the start of the service.
