TILTON - William Chrostowski, Sr. 79, of Tilton, passed away at 3:55 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 6, 2016 at his home.
William was born July 27, 1937, in Westville, to Alex and Ruth Shrout Chrostowski.
He married Jacqueline Lappin on June 9, 1957, in Danville. They were married 57 years.
Surviving family members are one son: Daniel W. (Anne) Chrostowski of Peoria, Ariz.; four daughters: Brenda (Glenn) Vincent of Belvidere, Ill., Janet (Joe) Newman of Tilton, Kristie (Rey) Cervantes of Sandwich, Ill., and Katherine (Steve) Saveley of Lake in the Hills, Ill.; three brothers: Richard Chrostowski of Westville, Gerald (Barbara) Chrostowski of Indiana, and Donald Chrostowski of Algonquin, Ill.; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Jacqueline; one son: William Chrostowski Jr.; and two brothers: Stanley and James.
William had been an engineer at Palmer House Hotel in Chicago for over 20 years. He served as a firefighter and an EMT with Carpentersville, Ill. Fire Department. He enjoyed playing softball, bowling, fishing, playing euchre, and was a member of The Sons of the American Legion.
Funeral services are at 1 p.m. Friday at Robison Chapel in Catlin with Pastor Andrew Martin officiating. Burial is at Sts. Peter & Paul Cemetery in Westville. Visitation is from 11 a.m. till 1 p.m. on Friday at Robison Chapel in Catlin.
