William "Bill"'s Story
Westville - William E. "Bill" Barnes, 68, of Westville, passed away at 2:26 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2016, at Presence Covenant in Urbana.
Bill was born on Aug. 24, 1948, in Danville, the son of William B. and Anita Houston Barnes. He married Vickie Chiaramello on June 23, 1973, in Danville. She survives. Other survivors include a daughter, Laurie (Steve) Rolinitis of Morton; a son, Troy (Christa) Barnes of Danville; a brother, Brian (Penny) Barnes of Tolono; a sister, Suellen (Paul) Millikin of Cincinnati, Ohio; five grandchildren, Bryce Rolinitis, Tyler Rolinitis, Kylie Rolinitis, Sophie Barnes and Bruce Barnes. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Michael Christopher Barnes; and a brother, Carroll Barnes.
Bill was a U.S. Army veteran, proudly serving in the Vietnam War. He was a member of the American Legion Post 51. He graduated from Danville High School in the Class of 66. Bill served on the Westville School Board and had been the president of the Westville Belgium Sanitary District. He had a passion for technology and computers. Bill was an avid Cardinals fan and most of all he loved spending time with his grandchildren.
Funeral service: 11a.m. Friday, Dec. 2, 2016, at Robison Chapel in Catlin with Darin Perkins officiating. Burial in Oakridge Cemetery. Visitation: 5-7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 1, 2016, at Robison Chapel. Memorials to Rileys Childrens Hospital. Online condolences at www.robisonchapel.com.
