TILTON - Tommy Gene McIntyre, 68, of Tilton, passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by loved ones, on Saturday, Sept. 17, 2016 at 12:53 p.m.
Tommy was born in Clinton, Ind., to Gene L. McIntyre and Jennie D. Gay, on Aug. 1, 1948.
He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Jack L. Dawson of Georgetown. Surviving siblings are Sue (Don) Swearingin of Houston, Texas, Isaiah Dean (Diane) Dawson of Georgetown, and Bonnie Jo Dawson-Dixon of New Orleans, La. Also surviving is his wife, Judith Ann McIntyre of Tilton; his son, Troy McIntyre of Wisconsin; two step daughters, Angel M. Rouse of Danville and Anna (Chris) Love of Tuscola; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Tommy worked for the GM plant, in Danville, for 25 years and retired at age 45. He then worked for Pinkerton Security till 2005 when he retired for good.
He married Doris Mae Culpa in 1976 and helped raise her four children till they divorced in May 2000. He then married Judith Ann Albright in June 2000 and loved her dearly till his passing. Tommy's hobbies included being the author of several books and short stories. He also was quite the music enthusiast, collected all genres of music, but especially gospel and Elvis Presley. Tommy was an avid flea market shopper and loved to go to any festival that had an Elvis impersonator.
Tommy may have lost his battle with cancer but he will ever be loved and missed by his family.
He requested to be cremated and there will be a visitation held at his home at 1822 S. Washington St. Tilton, on Saturday, Sept. 24, form 1-4 p.m. Robison Chapel, in Catlin, is in charge of arrangements. On-line condolences at www.robisonchapel.com.
