Thomas G. Fleenor, 67, of Robinson, passed away at 10:02 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 12, 2016, at Crawford Memorial Hospital.
Memorial services for family and friends will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 15, at Schilling Funeral Home. Visitation will be 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday at the funeral home.
Tom was born on March 26, 1949, in Mattoon, the son of Grant and Rosalee (Wright) Fleenor. He married Ruth Ann Wood on Sept. 5, 1970.
Survivors include his loving wife, Ruth Ann Fleenor of Robinson; sons, Grant Thomas Fleenor of Champaign and Mark David (Amanda) Fleenor of Robinson; grandchildren, Dayne and Grace; father, Grant Fleenor of Mattoon; and sister, Marsha (Jerry) True of Mattoon. Tom was preceded in death by his mother, Rosalee Fleenor; and brothers, Bob Fleenor and David Fleenor.
Tom graduated from Mattoon High School in 1967 where he played football and was a pitcher. He later graduated from Western Illinois University with a degree in marketing. Tom served honorably in the United States National Guard.
He was a commercial loan officer, working at many different banks.
Tom enjoyed golfing, and was an avid Chicago Bears and U of I fan. He loved spending time with his grandchildren, who affectionately called him "Papa." Tom lived for his family and set a wonderful example of kindness and generosity. He will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him.
