Ronald's Story

Georgetown Ronald Dean Pataki, 71, of Georgetown, IL, passed away at 8:25 a.m. on Friday, December 23, 2016 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana.
He was born on January 9, 1945 in Barberton, OH the son of Dave and Beulah Erickson Pataki. He married Betty Jo Peck on March 5, 1965 in Danville, IL. She survives. He will be dearly missed by his wife of 51 years; his children, Marci Mulrooney, Michele (Mike) Rollins, and Billy (Alyssa) Pataki; his grandchildren, Kaitlyn Katie Mulrooney, Tessa T-Bird Nolen, Tristan TJ Nolen, and Kaylee (Ryan) Holman. He was their papa and they were the apple of his eye; his brother, Jerry (Patty) Pataki and his sister, Brenda (Bill) Bonebrake; he also had many nieces, nephews, cousins, and a best friend, Sharon Wallace-Hart that will miss him dearly. He had many classmates that were special to him and he looked forward to the monthly luncheons with the Class of 1963. He was preceded in death by his parents and his son, Brad Pataki.
Ron was an electrician by trade and retired from General Motors. Throughout the years, he had many hobbies such as gardening, Nascar (Kenny Schrader), raising tropical fish, attending fish auctions, watching movies and sports. He was an avid Illini basketball fan and was looking forward to watching Tilmon play next year.
Memorial service 5 pm Thursday, December 29, 2016 at Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Georgetown, IL. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital or Cumberland Presbyterian Church of Georgetown. Robison Chapel in Catlin is assisting the family with service details.
