Ronald's Story

Ronald Barnett Sr., 71, of Danville, the love of my life is now with the lord. Ron passed away Jan. 5, 2017 with his family by his side. He was born to Eva Barnett and Robert Hunt in Princeton, Ind. He was raised by his grandparents.
Ron married Diane (Kittell) on Aug. 7, 1983. She survives. His sons are Ronald Barnett Jr. (Kelly), Bryce Barnett (Jessica Long), and Brent Barnett (Adrian Koerner), and his daughters are Dawn Wilkus (Buddy) and Jessica Sykes (Scott).
He loved his grandchildren: Trent Barnett, Beth and Kylie Haun, Kyle and Amanda Wilkus, Jacob and Kaylee Sykes, Brilynn and Kambri Barnett, Destanie Doan, Blaiden Long, Onna and Lorelei Barnett, Olivia, Amelia, Michael, and Zelia Taylor, and great-grandchildren, Ayda Romo, Sadie and Rob Leloup, Natalia and Damian Wilkus. Ron was proceeded in death by his parents and grandparents.
Ron served in the Army and spent 17 Months in Vietnam. He coached girls' softball. He was also a Cub Scout, Boy Scout and venture Scout Leader, as well as a Cub Scout and Boy Scout Master and was inducted into the Order of the Arrow. During his time, he awarded 10 young men with the Eagle Scout Awards.
He attended Morey Chapel Church. Ron enjoyed hunting, fishing, trapping, beekeeping, camping, gardening, reading and watching jeopardy.
He retired from Teepak after 30+ Years. Ron will miss trapping with his trapping buddy, Jack Knoblett.
There were no services. His wife and family gathered for a celebration of his life as Ron had requested. Rortvedt Funeral Services & Crematory in Tilton assisted the family. Online condolences at www.rortvedtfuneralservices.com.
