Rodger Andrew Chrisman, 71, died Dec. 17, 2016, in Surprise, Ariz.
He was born Sept. 7, 1945, in Danville, Ill., to Oswald and Iva Chrisman. They proceeded him in death. His brother Gerald (Jerry) Chrisman also proceeded him in death.
Rodger was wed to Janet (Haun) Chrisman on Jan. 6, 1968. She survives.
He is survived by two sons, Tom (Cindy) and Ron (Amy); five grandchildren, Morgan, Logan, Macie, Blake and Whitney Chrisman, all of Arizona; two nephews, Bryan (Rhonda) and Lance (Nikki) Chrisman of Illinois; and one great-niece and great-nephew of Illinois.
Rodger attended Bismarck Schools and graduated from Indiana College of Mortuary Science in 1967. He spent his entire career as a funeral director serving families in Rossville and Danville, and in 1993 moved to Arizona and continued serving families there until his retirement in 2012.
Rodger belonged to many business clubs and civic organizations in Illinois and Arizona.
A celebration of Rodger's life will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 14, 2017, at Lord of Life Lutheran Church in Sun City West, Ariz.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the American Diabetes Association. A memorial gathering will be scheduled in Danville at a later date.
