Robert's Story

Robert Lee Kincade, 89, of Williamsport, Ind., passed away at 8:17 a.m. Sunday, April 16, 2017 at Parkview Healthcare in Attica, Ind. He was born Jan. 30, 1928, in Heidrick, Ind., the son of Lawrence and Monzell (England) Kincade.
He married LaVonne Barker on Nov. 28, 1946 and she preceded him in death on June 12, 1967. Together they had two children, Larry (Sharon) Kincade of Conway, Ark. and Janet (Mike) Morris of Hoopeston; four grandchildren, Brian Kincade, Angie (Mark) Ramsey, Phillip Morris and TJ (Kerri) Morris; seven great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
He later married Lois Wagoner on March 19, 1969. She preceded him in death on June 13, 2004. Of this marriage, Bob inherited a loving step-daughter, Linda (Ken) Hughes of Grand Fork, N.D. and two special step-grandchildren, Toby (Caroline) Hughes and Tracy (Nathaniel) Mabry.
He married Nellie Knapp on May 11, 2006 at Chestnut Street Church of Christ in Hoopeston. She survives in Williamsport, Ind. Of this marriage, he has three step-children, Dale Knapp, Joe (Lisa) Knapp and Amanda (Tim) Cole.
He is also survived by one brother, Harlan (Margie) Kincade of Jamestown, Ind. and several nieces and nephews.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters; and six brothers.
Robert worked at General Motors in Tilton and later worked at the John Deere Foundry in Hoopeston, until his retirement. He also owned and operated Kincade Mowing. He was a member of Chestnut Street Church of Christ in Hoopeston. He loved mowing his yard and playing his harmonica, which he played in several bands. Robert also enjoyed collecting clocks.
Cremation rites will be accorded and a visitation will be held 11 a.m. - 12 p.m. Friday April 21, at Chestnut Street Church of Christ in Hoopeston. The memorial service will follow the visitation and will begin at 12 p.m. Friday at the church, with Pastor John Morris officiating. Burial will follow in Floral Hill Cemetery in Hoopeston.
