Randall's Story

Randall N. Carden, of Danville, born April 25, 1952, passed away on Thursday, Sept. 29, 2016 at the Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana.
Mr. Carden was a self-made man who enjoyed rebuilding cars, spending time on the beach, and spending time with his family and friends.
He is survived by his parents, Neva and Harold Gardner of Winter Haven, Fla.; his two sisters, Karan (Bob) Styer of Lakeland, Fla. and Penny (Tom) Halternan of Gahanna, Ohio. He is also survived by his five daughters: Tatum (Matt) Bryant of Westville; Raeann (Alex) Garcia of Olivet; Laura (Brent) Merritt of Cayuga, Ind.; and Jordyn and Jasmyn Goodman of Hoopeston. As well as nine grandchildren: Zayne and Gada Bryant of Westville; Shelby Burress and Tanner and Emyleina Garcia of Olivet; Jayce, Leyla, and Kuyah Merritt of Cayuga; and Olivia Miller of Hoopeston. Mr. Carden is also survived by life-long friend, Kristy Bolser of Westville, as well as several cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his grandson, Gage Matthew Bryant; a sister, Janet Carden; a brother, Edward Gardner; and a nephew, Bobby Styre.
A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date. Memorials may be made to Presence USMC Cancer Center or Carle Cancer Center in Danville.
