Patricia "Pat"'s Story
Heaven shined a little brighter, and there was a wondrous reunion in Heaven on Wednesday, July 27, 2016, when Patricia "Pat" Poulos, 79, of Danville, passed away peacefully in her home. A Celebration of Life will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 6, 2016, at The Life Church, 2105 N. Bowman Ave., Danville.
Pat was born on April 2, 1937 in Danville to Robert and Elizabeth (Smith) Henry. She attended Roselawn Grade School and Danville High School. She was co-owner of The Deluxe Restaurant with her husband, Pete, from 1968 until the business was sold in 2012. Pat enjoyed her work, where she got to interact with people, tell stories, and learn all of the latest Danville news. She was an avid Chicago sports fan, often watching The Chicago Bulls, The Chicago Bears, and The Chicago Black Hawks.
Pat married Pete Poulos on June 22, 1968 and the two shared nearly 38 years together before his death in 2006. She leaves behind her four children: Dr. Robert (Carol) Blackwell, Dr. Lori Blackwell, Anastasia "Stacy" (Robert) Boen, and Petro (Jillian) Poulos. She will also be greatly missed by her 10 grandchildren: Dr. Robert (Lindy) Blackwell, Christine (John) Priester, Jena Boen, Peter Webb, Jacob Boen, Alexis Webb, Maranda DePratt, Jeredith (Nicholas) Lord, Austin Dickerson, and Madeline Poulos; her great-grandchildren: Graham and Rylan Blackwell, and Anna Priester; her constant furry companion, Joy; and her numerous friends. Pat was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Pete.
