Patricia Dean Cunningham, 85, of Danville, passed away at 10:47 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 3, 2016. Patricia was born in Danville on May 19, 1931, the daughter of William Martin and Thelma G. Murry. On Aug. 11, 1948, Patricia married the love of her life Kenneth Ray Cunningham, owner of Cunningham Grocery in Tilton for 50 years. He precedes her in death.
Patricia is survived by her two sons, Timothy (Linda) Cunningham of Oakwood, Michael (Krissy) Cunningham of Daytona Beach, Fla.; daughter, Kendra ("Zoc") Zoccolillo of Avon, Ind.; five grandchildren, Eric (Marty) Cunningham and Jennifer D. Cunningham, Amanda Innes-Shareef, Elizabeth Seggebruch, Tara (Mike) Auter; and nine great-grandchildren.
Patricia is preceded in death by her parents and husband.
Patricia was a very hardworking person, spending 54 years as a beautician before working and later retiring from J.C. Penny. In her spare time, she could be found participating in the Red Hat Society, reading, shopping, watching NASCAR racing, college basketball and she had done makeup for Danville Light Opera. Patricia was a very loving individual and will be missed by all who have met her.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 8, 2016, at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center 3940 N. Vermilion St. in Danville. Officiating will be Minister Bill Carpenter. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park in Danville. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family has requested that all memorial donations be made to Faith Church of Christ in Danville or to a Humane Society of their choice.
