Nancy L. Voss, 89 of Danville, passed away at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 5, 2016, at Hawthorne Inn of Danville.
Born Jan. 27, 1927, the daughter of the late Martin H. and Ruth Schecter Voss, she attended Cannon Grade School and graduated from Danville High School in 1945, after which she attended Utterback Business College. She worked in the office at Dodson Seed Store, but retired from Lakeview Medical Center where she worked in Outpatient Admitting Office.
Nancy was a charter member of Covenant Presbyterian Church, where she was an Elder, member of the choir and Lydia Circle, and was active on several committees over the years.
She belonged to the former Danville Musical Cycle and sang in the former Danville Oratorio Society. At one time Nancy was also a member of Local 90 of the American Federation of Musicians, and she played in the Danville Municipal Band. She also was a longtime member of The Vermilion County Historical Society, The Illiana Genealogical Society, The C&EI Railroad Historical Society, and the Medenhall Family Association. Nancy was very interested in music, genealogy and local history.
Nancy is survived by several close friends and her cousins Martha Hargan, Glenda Hargan and her sisters. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Per her wishes, funeral services for Nancy will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 10, at Pape Family Funeral Home, 10 E. Williams St., Danville, with Pastor Matt Filicsky officiating. Visitation will be for one hour prior. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park.
