Nancy D. Suttles, 79, of Covington, died at 3:52 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 4, 2017, at Franciscan St. Elizabeth Health in Crawfordsville following a short illness. She was born Feb. 9, 1938, at Hendersonville, N.C., the daughter of Charles and Arlene Bessie (Whitlock) Roller.
Nancy was a graduate of Brevard, N.C. High School. She moved to Covington in 1974 from Grand Fork, N.D., which was Charles last station in the service. She was a member of Second Church of Christ, Danville, and a former member of Tri Kappa. She enjoyed going shopping, reading and playing cards. Nancy was a secretary for many years at Fountain Central High School.
Nancy married Charles H. Suttles Oct. 6, 1956, at Brevard, N.C., and he survives. Also surviving is a daughter, Debbie (George) Davis of Danville; a son, Bill Suttles of Chicago; a sister, Betty McGaha of Covington, Ind.; five grandchildren, Eli Rainey, Kyle Davis, Chris Leach, Ryan Leach and Casey (Ethan) Mullins. Her parents; daughter, Sharon Leach; and two grandchildren, Amy and Jennifer Davis preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be Sunday, Oct., 7, 2017, at 3 p.m. EDT in Shelby Funeral Home, Covington, with Drew Mentzer officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery.
