Martha "Aunt Libby"'s Story

Martha "Aunt Libby" Elizabeth Pollock, 91, of Tilton, passed away at 10:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 16, 2016, at North Logan Healthcare, in Danville.
Mrs. Pollock was born on Jan. 22, 1925, in Ridge Farm, the daughter of Roy Milton and Gladys Marie (Kunkle) Boggess. She first married Truman Piatt and together they had one son, Roy Lee Piatt. She was also married to Harold Seibert, who preceded her in death in 1975. After his death, she married Robert "Jim" Pollock on June 18, 1977, in Danville. He preceded her in death on Sept. 19, 2013.
She is survived by one brother, Roy (Ruth) Boggess of Danville; one sister, Pauline (Jack) Downes of Champaign; two grandchildren, Tony Piatt of Danville and Penny Yoho of Cayuga, Ind.; five great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; step-daughter, Teresa Pollock of Danville; step-son, Robert Pollock Jr. of Danville; two step-grandchildren; and three step-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands; son, Roy Piatt; four brothers; and one sister.
Mrs. Pollock worked at the bag factory in Westville and then Teepak for 13 years, but her most recent job was she ran a foster home for veterans. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. She enjoyed crocheting, crafts and going to church and listening to gospel music.
The family would like to say a special thanks to everyone at North Logan Healthcare and Hospice for all of their help during this time.
A Celebration of Martha Elizabeth Pollock's Life will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 19, at Calvary Baptist Church in Tilton, with Pastor Scott McCurdy officiating. Burial will follow the service in Oakhill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. Friday at the church.
