Marshall R. Hembrey, 62, of Fithian, passed from this world surrounded by family and friends at 6:52 a.m. Saturday morning, Sept. 9, 2017, at Carle Hospital in Urbana.
Marshall was born on March 26, 1955, in Danville, the son of Robert R and Barbara (Bond) Hembrey. He married Sheryl Hughes on Sept. 6, 1986. She survives.
Also surviving are one son, Bryan M. Hembrey of Fithian; three sisters, Brenda (Stacy) Alsfeld of Bonita Springs, Fla., Crystal (Larry) Nohmer of Catlin, Stacey Browning of Aurora; and one brother, Tracey Hembrey of Catlin.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Marshall was an amazing man who loved to cook for and entertain others. He was happiest with a beer in his hand and a hunk of meat on the smoker. Marshall dearly loved his family and friends, and had developed a passion for travel. One of his favorite dreams was to open a food shack on a beach in the Caribbean.
A celebration of Marshall's life will be held at a later date.
