Marjorie Krainock, 87, of Danville, left us peacefully on Thursday, March 2, 2017 at Presence USMC in Danville.
The family will have a private celebration of Marjorie's life at a later time.
Marjorie was born on Aug. 4, 1929, in Danville, to John C. and Helen (McCalman) Funk. She attended Danville Grade Schools and DHS, graduating in 1947 and going on to attend Danville Junior College. Together, with her husband, she was the owner and operator of Mr. Steak Restaurant and Mr. K's Lounge.
Marjorie married Harold E. "Pete" Krainock on May 10, 1951 and the two have shared nearly 66 years together. Survivors include her husband, Pete; their three children: Mark Krainock, Randy (Kristie Shappell) Krainock, and John (Alice) Krainock; seven grandchildren: Talia (Mark) Maddock, Amber Krainock, Corey Krainock (Natasha Adams), Lucas Shappell, McKenzie Shappell, Jason Krainock, and Jennifer (John) Hyche; and her great-grandchildren: Makayla and Kinley Moss, Shannon and Molly Maddock, Caydence, Brady, and Isabelle Hyche, and Oaklen Krainock who is due April of 2017. She also leaves behind her beloved dog, Lizzy, who was a constant companion by her side. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Marjorie was a member of First Presbyterian Church, in Danville, where she was also a former Mary and Martha Member. She loved to garden, collect and try new recipes, and was an animal lover. She rarely missed her grandchildren's activities, as she loved to spend time with her family, and she was an avid Chicago Cubs and Fighting Illini fan. But most of all, she loved Pete; he was the love of her life and she enjoyed every moment of the family and the life they created together.
Messages and memories may be left on our website at www.papefuneral.com, or on the Pape Family Funeral Home Facebook page. Memorials may be made to Danville District 118 School Foundation or Danville Humane Society.
