Margaret Armstrong of Champaign passed away on March 3, 2017, at Amber Glen in Urbana. She was born March 28, 1919, in Danville, the daughter of Charles and Phillis McCrone. Margaret married Roy "Pete" Holman on Dec. 3, 1936, in Covington. He precedes her in death . In July 1965, Margaret married Richard "Red" Armstrong. He also precedes her in death.
Margaret is survived by her sister, Florence Barton; daughter, Sandra (Dave) Foster, of St. Joseph; grandchildren, Debbie (Mark) Woodard of Hookstown, Penn., Mike Foster and Lori Payne of St. Louis, Mo.; great-grandchildren, Brian Woodard, Ben (Jesse) Woodard, Leah Woodard, Luke Woodard, Clay Foster, Chase Foster, and great-great-grandson, Joshua Woodard.
Margaret loved cooking for family and friends, especially on the holidays. She enjoyed sewing, cross stitch and gardening but most importantly, spending time with her family.
She is preceded in death by her siblings, Charles, Don, Kenny, Ruth Emmons, Dick, Larry and Pat Bergan.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 7, at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 3940 N. Vermilion in Danville. Visitation will be at 1 p.m. Private burial will be at Spring Hill Cemetery.
