Lucille Bray, 97, of Potomac, Ill., passed away Dec. 30, 2016, at home.
Lucille was born Nov. 23, 1919, to Robert and Eliza (Iddon) Franklin in West Frankfort, Ill.
She married Oscar Bray on Aug. 7, 1948 in Urbana, Ill. He preceded her in death on Dec. 4, 2014.
Lucille is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Sherry and Jesse LeSure; three granddaughters, Julie (Eddie) White, Kelly (Lee) Booher and Molli (Larry) Herrington; four great-grandchildren, Jessica (Christopher) Billot, Chelsea (Trevor) Jennings, Jake (Chelsea) White and Elizabeth Booher; and three great-great-grandchildren Blake, Roman and Charlotte.
In addition to her husband and parents, Lucille was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Ginger Fegett; three brothers, John, George and Edward; three sisters, Elsie Pichon, Virginia Gore and Irene Donley; and one very dear longtime friend, Marguerite Stahl.
Lucille was a first generation American with a fierce independent spirit. She graduated from West Frankfort High School in 1938 and moved to Danville. Lucille retired from the VA in 1980.
She was a member of Potomac Church of Christ. Lucille loved to read, watch hummingbirds and enjoyed the roses from Oscar's garden. She was the proud matriarch of a five-generation family. Her family was very special to her.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 3, at Blurton Funeral Home, Potomac. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 4, at Potomac Cemetery with Pastor Randy Walters officiating.
