Lorraine's Story

Lorraine (Olson) Wilson, 94, of Hoopeston, passed away at 12:25 a.m. Saturday, April 22, 2017, at Heritage Health Care, Hoopeston.
Lorraine was born on Oct. 2, 1922, in East Lynn, the daughter of George and Gladys (Lee) Olson.
She married Richard Wilson on Jan. 1, 1942 in East Lynn. He preceded her in death on Nov. 13, 1996.
She is survived by three daughters, Janet (Lester) Harden of Noblesville, Ind., Judy Hasselbring of Greenville, S.C., Diane (John ) Rogers of Shannon, Ill.; grandchildren-Kevin Hasselbring, Darren Hasselbring, Rich (Kim) Harden, Randy Harden, Rodney (Jami) Harden, Kim (Jimmy) Bradley, Mark Rogers, Joel (Beth) Rogers, Lori (Dan) Helfrich; great-grandchildren, Kaylee (Joel), Riley, Jacob (Jill), McKenzie, Marisa, Noah, Mary, Drew; step-great-grandchildren, Richard (Trista) and Brian; step-great-great-grandchildren, Drew and Ali; sister-in-law, Jennie Stipp; special friend, Gene Fagner; caretaker, Dorothy Allison; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sister, Esther Marie Olson; brother, Perry Lee Olson; and son-in-law, Aaron Hasselbring.
Lorraine graduated from East Lynn High School in 1940. She was a member of East Lynn United Methodist Church and Rural Neighbors. Lorraine enjoyed flower arranging, photography, crochet, crafts, bowling, playing bridge, making decorated cakes for birthdays and anniversaries. She was known for her colored Easter eggs.
A celebration of Lorraine Wilson's life will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, April 26, at Blurton Funeral Home in Hoopeston with Pastor Steve Unger officiating, Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday April 25, at Blurton Funeral Home in Hoopeston.
