Leroy Junior DePoister passed away at 6 p.m. Friday, April 28, 2017 at Presence Covenant Medical Center in Urbana. He was born Feb. 10, 1939 in Edgewood, Ill. to Roy and Ida DePoister.
He is survived by his loving wife, Evalina (Lena) (Smith) DePoister of Danville. They were married in Farina, Ill., June 15, 1968.
Leroy is survived by sisters, Rochel (Marlin) Alwardt of Effingham, Ill., Pauline (Oliver) Pauley of Mattoon, Ill., Lucille (Charles) Simmons of Grapevine, Texas, Helen (Gene) Smith of Mason, Ill., Rita (Wayne) Kramer of Farina, Ill., Suzie (Ivan) Higgs of Mason, Ill., Nancy (Barry) Hodges of Edgewood, Ill., and Rhonda (deceased husband, Bob) Tweedle of Edgewood, Ill. and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy Ernest and Ida Mae (Lance) DePoister; sister, Betty Ramsey; and infant sister, Kathy Lynn DePoister.
He was a U.S. National Guard veteran serving active duty at Fort Lenard Wood, Mo. He owned and operated Danville Fabrication for 20 years. He served on the board and became an honorary lifetime board member of Living Water Apostolic Church, of Danville. He enjoyed his family, church, traveling and sightseeing.
Memorial services will be at Living Water Apostolic Church, 1204 West Williams Street, Danville, IL 61834 Saturday, May 6, at 1 p.m. with Rev. Randy Taylor officiating. Visitation one hour prior to services.
