June Frances Sheridan Peterson was born June 19, 1922 in Fond du Lac, Wis. to Emmett and Alice Bohan Sheridan. She was raised in Schiller Park, Ill. and met her husband, Robert James Peterson, while working in Chicago. They settled in Danville in 1946 when Bob and his brother, Harry, started Peterson Filling and Packaging Company. They had six children and lived in Danville for 40 years where June made many lasting friendships and was an active member of Danville Country Club. In 1985, they moved to Naples, Fla. She loved cooking, reading, entertaining, making friends and, as all her friends knew, discussing politics.
June is survived by her six children and their spouses, 15 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She was beloved by her family and many friends for her kindness, her fun loving nature and her unparalleled ability to love. June will be remembered forever by Kathleen and James Hardgrove, their children Jennifer and David Streicker and their children Matthew, Caroline, Robert and William; Amy and John Ward and their children Eleanor, Lucia, Peter and Nicholas; Michael and Mary Hardgrove and their children Jack, Robert and Lynn Peterson and their children, Matthew and Caitlin; Michael and Dawn Peterson and their children Scott, Anne and John, Nancy and Don Schulte and their children Andrew and Ashley and Sheridan; and Kristine and James Beimford and their children Caroline, Andrew and Madeleine, Mark and Susan Peterson and their children Alyssa and Patrick.
