Joshua Timothy Kessler, 24, of Bismarck, passed away on Feb. 25, 2017 at his home.
He was born in Urbana, the son of John and Anne (McCarthy) Kessler, on Feb. 19, 1993.
He is survived by his parents; grandmothers, Regina Kessler and Diane McCarthy; brothers, Joseph John Kessler of Australia and Thomas Harrison Kessler of Bismarck; sisters, Dannie Drent of North Carolina; aunts, Krista Salmon, Jane Paige, and Marion Kember; uncles, Lee Kessler and Timothy McCarthy; and several cousins.
Josh was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Fred "Papa" Kessler and George "Aussie Papa" McCarthy.
He graduated from Bismarck High School where he played football. Josh was an outgoing, polite young man, who studied Psychology at Millikin University. Josh loved his family dearly and had a huge heart, he was known for spending his time helping others. He loved and was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ and the Latter Day Saints in Danville.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Thursday, March 2, at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 3940 North Vermilion St. Danville, IL 61834. Service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, March 3, at The Church of Jesus Christ and the Latter Day Saints in Danville with Bishop David Bealer officiating. Burial will take place at Sunset Memorial Park.
