DANVILLE - John David Garringer "David," 74, passed away unexpectedly at 9 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 4, 2016. at his residence.
He was born in Redkey to Russel M. Garringer and Estell I. (Moyster) Garringer on Sept. 18, 1941. Both parents preceded him in death.
David retired in 2002 from St. Gobain Maintenance Department in Dunkirk after 43 years of service.
He married Marcella (Loveall) Rambole-Garringer on Sept. 8, 2006, in Church of Christ in St. Joe. He had moved to Danville in January 2006.
He was a member of Second Church of Christ in Danville, where he belonged to the Sunday School & Christian Fellowship Class. He was also a member of Glass Molders, Pottery, Plastics & Allied Workers International Union. (ALF-CIO, CLC)
David will be sadly missed by his wife, Marcella Rambole-Garringer of Danville; daughter, Patricia L. (husband, Laszlo) Mangyik of Hartford City; step-son, Jeff (wife, Penny) Rambole of Danville; step-daughter, Karen (husband, John) Grant of Williamsport, Ind.; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; brother, Frank (wife, Jessie) Garinger of Hartford City, Ind.; sister, Martha Smith of Redkey; several nieces and nephews.
Graveside funeral service will be at Bluff Point Cemetery in Portland, Ind., at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 9, 2016, with Rev. John Graves officiating. Burial will follow.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 9, 2016, at Keplinger Funeral Home, 509 N. High St., Hartford City.
