GEORGETOWN - Joann Rutledge, 82, of Georgetown passed away at Presence United Samaritans Medical Center in Danville.
Joann was born June 11, 1934, the daughter of Ralph and Eva (Kuykendall) Martin.
In 1952, Joann married William Ray Irons. He precedes her in death. In 1993, Joann married Ernest Rutledge. He survives.
Joann is survived by her sons, William Lee (Janet) Irons, Ralph Steven (Leigh) Irons, Charles Ray Irons; daughter, Vicki Anderson; step-children, Donna (Matt) Powell, Michael (Marian) Rutledge; brothers, Kenneth (Nancy) Martin, Paul (Jerry) Martin, Bob (Diane) Martin; as well as many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Joann Worked for many years at Bohn Aluminum and was a receptionist for the state's attorney.
She enjoyed gardening, loved traveling, was a long-time member of First Church of Christ in Georgetown and served as treasurer for Legion Post 203. But most of all, she loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A celebration of life for Joann will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 29, at Sunset Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 3940 N. Vermilion St., Danville. Raymie Gordon will be officiating. A visitation will be 1-2 p.m. Thursday prior to the service. Entombment will be at Sunset Memorial Park.
