DANVILLE - James A. Roberts, 57, of Danville passed away at 7 p.m. Sunday, September 10, 2017, at Presence St. Joseph Hospital in Joliet, Ill., with family all around him.
James was born on October 8, 1959, in Danville, Ill., the son of Edgar and Kay Dombrowski Roberts.
He married Brenda Swider on June 11, 1994.
She survives, as well as his mother, Kay Roberts; four brothers, Kervin (Chris), Greg (Deb), Danny (Sheila), and Brian (Anita); four children, Savanna, Kara, Todd (Nicole) and Kenny (Amy) Hittlet; 11 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren, and one on the way; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father; brother, Michael; maternal and paternal grandparents; and granddaughter, Mariah Butler.
James was employed at Carnaghi towing for 33 years before retiring in March of 2001 due to his illness. He loved NASCAR racing, the Cubs and spending time with his family and friends. He will be missed dearly and will never be forgotten.
Funeral service: 6 p.m. Thursday, September 14, 2017, at Robison Chapel in Catlin with Drew Mentzer officiating. Visitation: 4-6 p.m. Thursday prior to the service at the funeral home.
