Jamal Kenyon Darnell, 38, of Danville, transitioned from this life at 12:55 p.m. March 23, 2017, at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana.
Jamal was born Sept. 29, 1978, in Danville to Derric Darnell and Sharon Joyner.
Jamal attended and graduated from Danville High School and recently celebrated his 11th year of service at Bungee Milling as an operator. Jamal enjoyed his job. His fellow employees were like his second family.
Jamal's greatest joy was his children, watching his daughter Cierra mature into a young adult and great mother and Desiree evolve into an amazing teenager excelling in sports. He was her biggest fan.
When he wasn't at work, Jamal loved spending time with his family and friends and adoring his grandbaby, Ja'Zae Smith.
Jamal's hobbies included anything with motorcycles, cars and guns. Jamal had a contagious smile; it had the capability of lighting up a room and brightening your day. The facial expressions he gave his wife and kids say more than words.
Jamal leaves to cherish his loving memory his wife of 11 years, Chasity Darnell; two daughters, Cierra (Ja'miz Smith) and Desiree; grandson Ja' Zae Smith; his parents, Sharon Joyner and Derric Darnell; mother- and father-in-law, Jeffery and Barbara Chrostowski; grandmothers, Alberta Joyner and Loretta Darnell; siblings, Devon Darnell and Derric (Lakeysha Lillard) Darnell Jr. and children, Viniya, Kyren, AAjalia and Arri Darnell; sisters-in-law, Amanda (Eric Russell) Chrostowski and children, Zachary, Kenzie and Jordan Russell and Brittany (Steven Griffith) Chrostowski and children, Steven Jr., Mila Griffith; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and countless special friends.
