WEST LEBANON, IND. - Jack Lee Abbott, age 71, of West Lebanon, Ind., died at 12:12 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 19, 2017 at St. Vincent Williamsport Hospital.
Jack was born on April 10, 1945 in Danville. He was the son of Howard E. and Eva B. (Wynn) Abbott, Sr. He graduated from Armstrong High School in 1963. He had previously lived in Collison, Fithian and Rossville, before moving to Warren County in 1993.
On June 13, 1993 he married Josefina Lopez at West Lebanon Christian Church.
Jack served in the U.S. Army in Germany. He worked at Hyster from 1967 until 2007. Jack was a member of West Lebanon Christian Church. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, and the outdoors.
Surviving are two children, Becky Ness (Ed) of Danville and Jason Abbott (Barb); one step-daughter, Isidra Kay Griffith (Matt) of Attica, Ind.; siblings, Gene Abbott (Barbara) of Collison, Mary Ann Schlueter (Melvin) of St. Joseph, and Jay Abbott (Linda) of Covington, Ind.; four grandchildren; and five step-grandchildren.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, John Robert Abbott.
Visitation will be at West Lebanon Christian Church on Saturday, Jan. 21, from 3-6 p.m. Services will be there on Sunday, Jan. 22, at 3 p.m. with Minister Bruce Thornsbrough officiating. Interment will follow at West Lebanon Cemetery with full military honors.
