SIDELL- Harold L. Ware, 84, of Sidell, passed away at 7:20 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 17, 2016 at Presence Covenant Medical Center in Urbana. He was born May 24. 1932, in Collinsville, Okla., to Forrest and Grace Thomen Ware.
Harold married Linda Bryant Dec. 25, 1955 in Sidell. Linda survives as well one son, Darin (Lori) Ware of Oakwood; 2 daughters, Debra Weaver of Catlin and Donna (Vic) Smith of Sidell; one sister, Aileene Swinford of Orange Park, Fla.; seven grandchildren: Keri (Brandon) Fessant, Kathleen (Willie) Orcutt, Kaylea (Jason Arnett) Weaver, Meghan Smith, Ashley (Lance) Higgerson, Elizabeth Smith, and Erin Ware; three step-grandchildren, Chris Wade, Hunter Hansbraugh, and Cody Hansbraugh; three great-grandchildren, Leland Shields, Dailynne Orcutt, and Lyla Orcutt; as well as several nieces and nephews. Harold was preceded in death by one son, Eric Ware; one brother, Darrell Ware; and two sisters, Marion Wright and June Ahern.
He served in the U.S. Army, and had been employed at General Motors Tilton Foundry for 32 years. He was a member of Sidell Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon, was a former member of Sidell Town Board, member of Union Local 575, served on the both the ambulance and fire board of Sidell, as well as Civil Defense. He was presently Commander of Sidell Post 530 of the American Legion. He enjoyed fishing, raising exotic birds, and deer hunting.
Private family services will be held at Robison Chapel in Catlin. Craig Roller will officiate.
