H. Barbara Salts, 91, of Noblesville, Ind., formerly of Covington, Ind., passed away on Nov. 26, 2016 at Riverwalk Village Nursing Home in Noblesville.
She was born on March 13, 1925 in Pence, Ind., the daughter of Forrest and Lottie Ward. In 1943, she married Charles W. Salts in Warren County, Ind. He preceded her in death in 2009.
Barbara will be deeply missed by her children, Barry (Linda) Salts of Rochester, Ind., Joe (Susie) Collison of Veedersburg, Ind., Richard (Judy) Salts of Indianapolis, and Chris Salts of Noblesville, Ind.; siblings, Annie Slaughter of Bloomington, Ind., JoAnn (John) Kokenberg of Attica, Ind., Beverly Skelton of Bradenton, Fla. and Gus (Dee) Ward of Ruther Glen, Va.; grandchildren, Lori, Leslie, Tim, Matt, Kimberly, Kristine, Stephanie, Tom, Brad, Joseph Jr., Jennifer, Heather, Holly, Heidi, Lane, Josh, Dustin, Blake, Nathaniel and Graham; 43 great-grandchildren; and 12 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter, Brenda Ashe and siblings, Lee, Kenneth and Dawn.
Barbara loved going to church and was a life-long member of Maranatha Baptist Church in Covington. She enjoyed traveling with Charles and going on cruises. Barbara was known for her cooking, especially her pies and spending time with all her family.
A celebration of Barbara's life will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 30, at 2 p.m. at Maranatha Baptist Church, in Covington, Ind., with Pastor Kenneth Jones officiating. Visitation will be held from 12-2 p.m. prior to the service. She will be laid to rest at West Lebanon Cemetery.
