CLINTON, Ind. - Francis L. Fleck, 90, of Clinton and formerly of Perrysville, Ind., passed away at 10:10 p.m. EST Monday, Jan. 9, 2017, at Clinton Gardens in Clinton, Ind.
She was born April 2, 1926, in Dana, Ind., the daughter of the late Russell and Mabel (Craft) Kyger.
Francis first married Robert Shields on June 8, 1944. From this marriage were six children. She later married Samuel Elias Fleck on Feb. 3, 1976, in Ridge Farm, Ill. He preceded her in death on Dec. 12, 2014.
Survivors include six children, Carolyn Conrad and Judy Shields both of Okeechobee, Fla., Jack (Bonnie) Shields of Perrysville, Ind., Cindy Fulkerson of Clinton, Ind., Tom (Faye) Shields of McIntosh, Ala., and Scott (Marie) Shields of Perrysville, Ind.; several grandchildren great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Marjory Seibold of Covington, Ind., and Beverly (Wynn) Jones of Dana, Ind.; and two brothers, Cloyd Kyger of Ridge Farm, Ill., and Frank (Suds) Kyger of Chatham, Ill. Francis was preceded in death by one son, Jerry Shields and one sister, Ester Mae Kyger.
Francis was a nurse at the former Lakeview Hospital and also at the Veterans Affairs hospital, both in Danville. She also worked in home health care in the area. She attended Covington Church of the Nazarene.
Francis enjoyed traveling with her late husband in their motorhome and also on their motorcycle.
Funeral services: 3 p.m. EST Friday, Jan. 13, at DeVerter Funeral Home in Cayuga, Ind. Burial: Thomas Cemetery in Newport, Ind. Visitation: 1 p.m. EST Friday until time of services at the funeral home.
