Edward Murphy, 79, of Danville, passed away Dec. 25, 2016, at Presence Medical Center.
Edward was born June 28, 1937, to Fred and Ivie Jane (Neidiever) Murphy in Pennington, Ark.
Edward married Mary Kay Grubb on Aug. 30, 1969. She survives.
Also surviving are his children, Bobby Murphy of Greenwood, Ind., Vickie (Nick) Blatteau and Sherry Weidenburner both of Georgetown; four grandchildren, Neva (Darren) Alexander, Marlena (Noah) Freund, Neven Murphy, and Skyler Weidenburner; three great-grandchildren, Macey Alexander, and Isabella and Sophia Rhoden; three sisters, Evelean Sutterfield, Cora Alwin, Patricia (Midge) Kirby; and two brothers, Robert and James, all siblings reside in Arkansas.
He was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers, Eugene, Lanny, Cecil, and Roy Dean Murphy.
In his younger years, Edward liked to ride motorcycles. Edward retired from General Motors after 27 years. Edward loved to garden, keep a nice yard, and travel with Mary and friends.
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 7, 2017, at Morey Chapel Church of Christ, Westville, with Dan Ziebart officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to CARA Animal Shelter in Tilton. Rortvedt Funeral Services is assisting the family.
