Edna Irene Biser, 95, of Tilton, passed away Monday, Aug. 22, 2016, at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 26, at Friends Church of Vermilion Grove, north of Ridge Farm, with Pastor Joe White officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior at the church.
Edna was born Dec. 31, 1920, in Vermilion Grove, Ill., to Russell and Jessie (Stahl) Mills.
She attended Vermilion Grove Grade School and Ridge Farm High School, as well attending Danville Junior College and taking courses in accounting.
Edna worked at GE for over 20 years in the production line retiring in 1977. She and her husband, Samuel, enjoyed traveling together and visited all 50 states before his passing. She enjoyed working outside, and had beautiful gardens of roses and vegetables. Edna also liked to cross-stitch.
Edna married Samuel Biser in November 1941 and they enjoyed nearly 68 years of marriage before his passing in 2009.
She is survived by her grandson, James Olmstead, and four sisters, Dorothy (Donald) Wheeler, Susie Smith, Ella Mae Pal and Lydia Hall. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Samuel; five brothers and a daughter, Mary Olmstead.
