Dorothy Grace Richardson, 88, of rural Covington, Ind., died unexpectedly Saturday, Aug. 12, 2017, at home.
She was born Dec. 6, 1928, in Danville, Ill., the daughter of George and Mabel (Emley) Wait.
Dorothy was a life resident of the Rileysburg, Ind., area, a graduate of Bismarck High School, a member of Gessie United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women and Auxiliary of Walter Hoyt Post 350 American Legion. She was a flight instructor at Highland Airport for more than 25 years before retiring.
Dorothy married William M. Richardson Jr. on Dec. 7, 1947. He died June 29, 1996.
Surviving are two sons, Steven Duane Richardson of Woodstock, Ill., and Jeffrey W. (wife, Lee) Richardson of Murfreesboro, Tenn.; three grandchildren, Clare, Katherine and Kiel Richardson; and many nieces and nephews. Her parents, two brothers and six sisters preceded her in death.
Visitation 5-8 p.m. EDT Wednesday, Aug. 16, at Shelby Funeral Home, Covington, Ind. Funeral services: 11 a.m. EDT Thursday, Aug. 17, at Gessie United Methodist Church with Rev. Jason Dean officiating. Burial in Hopewell Cemetery.
