Doris S. Conner, 84, of Danville, passed away at 1 a.m. Sunday, July 31, 2016, at Colonial Manor Nursing Home, Danville.
She was born Aug. 8, 1931, in Sadorus, Ill., the daughter of C.J. and Rozean E. Dunwoodie.
She was united in marriage to Andre Vallangeon until his passing, and later to Lawrence Conner, who preceded her in death.
She will be dearly missed by her sons, Jerry Vallangeon of Danville and Terry (Debbie) Vallangeon of Westville; her daughters, Judy (Steve) Nolen of Westville and Mary (Vince) Johnson of Indianola; her grandchildren, Terry (Angie) Vallangeon of Georgetown, Walter McNeese of Danville, Mary (Chet) Ziegler of Hillsboro, Ind., Angela Nolen of Danville and Christine Johnson of Westville; her great-grandchildren, Bridgette, Matthew, Brandon, Johnny, Gracey, Jack and Amelia; and her great-great grandchildren, Ceonna, Annabell and Raelynn. She was preceded in death by her parents and her daughter, Sherry Vallangeon.
Doris worked at General Electric. She was a loving mother and grandmother. She loved to garden, travel and have picnics with the kids in the park. She was known as an excellent cook.
A celebration of Doris' life will be at noon Wednesday, Aug. 3, at Sunset-Urbas Funeral Chapel, 414 S. State St., Westville, with Pastor James Blue. Visitation will be 10 a.m.-noon Wednesday prior to her service at the funeral home. She will be laid to rest in Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Westville.
