Donald Lee Hennette, 88, of Westville, passed away at 11:32 p.m. Friday, July 22, 2016, at Richard L. Roudebush VA Medical Center in Indianapolis.
He was born Nov. 18, 1927, in Linton, Ind., the son of Louis and Emma (LeGrand) Hennette Jr.
He married Louella Margaret Thompson on May 15, 1981, in Kankakee. She survives.
Also surviving are his children, Kenny Hennette of Cayuga, Ind., Kim (Steve) Millspaugh of Montezuma, Ind., and Ramona (John) McCabe of State Line, Ill.; stepchildren, James (Sandy) Tomlinson of Danville and Denise Gay of Westville; a sister, Leah Vacketta of Danville; 12 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and two nephews. He was preceded in death by a grandson.
Don was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Westville, Westville American Legion Post 51 and 40 & 8 in Paris, Ill. He was a self-employed electrician. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 5, at Danville National Cemetery. Military rites will be provided by American Legion Post 51.
