Dick A. "Dicky" Huerta, 56, of Danville, went to be with his lord and savior Saturday, June 10, 2017 at Richard Roudebush VA. Medical Center, in Indianapolis, surrounded by his kids and family.
Dick Huerta was born March 26, 1961, in Danville, to Antonio and Kennella Huerta. He graduated from Danville High School and enlisted in the United States Army where he served over seas and Washington State. Dick accepted Christ at an early age and attended Mt. Zion Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Dr. Floyd S. Crenshaw.
Dick enjoyed fishing, sports, reading his bible and spending time with his kids and grandkids. His favorite passage of scripture was Psalm 23.
He married Tamara Williams May 5, 1984. She survives. Of this union, he leaves to cherish his only daughter, Jessica "TOOT" Williams and four sons, Antonio (Whitley), Mathew (Latoya), and Rio Huerta all of Danville and Jordan Huerta of Kentucky; four siblings, Cathy Huerta of Danville, Antonio Huerta III of Atlanta Ga., Richard Huerta of Tacoma, Wash., and Dominic (Delisa) Huerta of Anderson, Ind.; nine grandchildren; a host of family and friends; and special friends, Don Potts, Gerald Carter and Marcus Minor.
He was preceded by his parents and a sister, Carmen Huerta.
A Homegoing Celebration will commence at 11 a.m. Friday, June 16, at New Life Church of Faith, 1419 N. Bowman Ave. Officiating: Pastor Raenell Crenshaw. Cremation will follow. Leek & Sons Funeral Home, 304 E. Williams, in charge of arrangements.
