Delores "Pat"'s Story
FAIRMOUNT - Delores "Pat" "Grandma" Sapp, 77, of Fairmount, Ill., went to be with the Lord at 10:34 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 27, 2016.
Pat was born Feb. 5, 1939, in Danville, Ill., the daughter of William and Mary Lovett Lomax.
She married the love of her life, William Sapp, on Aug. 13, 1960. He preceded her in death on Feb. 9, 2009.
She is survived by daughters, Debby (Scott) Zorns of Homestead, Fla., Beckie (Cyrus) Brown of Alvin; one brother, William (Mildred) Lomax of Oakwood; grandchildren, Barry (Marie) Grimm of Oakwood, Haley (Craig) Swearingen of Oakwood, Shauna Pitlik of Oakwood, Ashley Zorns of Alvin, Shakala (Chris) Wilson of Alvin, Sharhea (Justin) Wynn of Catlin, Skylar Brown of Alvin; surrogate grandson, Josh (Kayla) Linton of Oakwood; 20 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and many other special friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her special friend, Ed Miller; and two great-grandchildren, Hunter and Alaina.
Pat and Bill built their home and then a lake that later became Salt Fork Paylake. Pat was known to many as "Grandma." Pat enjoyed fishing, hunting and spending time with her family. She cherished and attended all of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren's sporting events and practices. She was a supporter of the motorcycle club US MVMC.
Pat was willing to help anyone in need and accepted anyone into her life with open arms. She was always humble and kind. Pat was a frequent customer of Henk's Café and Buffalo Wild Wings. She will be deeply missed by all the lives she touched.
Memorial services: 5:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 3, at Vermilion Valley Vineyard Church in Danville with Pastor Jay Sorrell officiating. Visitation: 3-5 p.m. Saturday at the church.
