Connie Harris, 68, of Danville, passed away at 6:04 a.m. Monday, Nov. 1, 2016.
Connie was born in Danville, Ill., on Aug. 16, 1948, the daughter of Lyle Victor and Florence (Dare) Eickelman.
On Nov. 24, 1967, Connie married the love of her life, Earnest Harris. He preceded her in death on July 1, 2016.
Surviving are one son, Eric (Dianne) Harris of Fairmount; one daughter, Tamala (Tim) Hinote of Danville; four grandchildren, Rachel (Justin) Davis of Urbana, Kaitlyn (Jakub Puchalski) Harris of Des Plaines, Ill., Alexis Harris of Fairmount, Matthew Harris of Fairmount; and two great-grandchildren, Delynn Harris and Zoe Harris of Fairmount.
Connie is preceded in death by her husband, Earnest, and her parents.
Connie was a homemaker and loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She loved playing cards with her grandkids and taking them out to eat at local restaurants. One of her favorites was Jocko's, so the grandkids could watch the trains go around the tracks. Connie also enjoyed working on word-search puzzles in her free time.
A Celebration of Life Service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 12, at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 3940 N. Vermilion St., Danville. Officiating will be Doug Knapp. Entombment will be in Spring Hill Cemetery in Danville. Visitation will be 10-11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
